International buyers increasingly need more than product. They need an auditable record of where it came from. Terra Global Trading and its origin partners work to documentation-first standards.

EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR)

EUDR applies to large operators from 30 December 2026, and to micro and small operators from 30 June 2027. Cocoa is a covered commodity, and the scope extends to cocoa butter, cocoa liquor, cocoa cake, cocoa powder and chocolate. Operators placing these products on the EU market must demonstrate that goods are deforestation-free as of 31 December 2020. In practice this requires the geolocation of the plots where the cocoa was produced, a documented risk assessment, risk mitigation where required, and a due diligence statement supported by auditable records. We work with our Nigerian origin partners to assemble origin and traceability data to support buyer due diligence files. Requirements differ by buyer and by product, and we discuss what can be provided at enquiry stage rather than making blanket assurances.

The due diligence statement is submitted by the operator placing the goods on the EU market. Terra Global Trading Ltd and its origin partners provide supporting origin documentation; we do not submit due diligence statements on a buyer's behalf.

Quality Verification

Product specifications are agreed with the buyer before shipment preparation. Origin testing is coordinated in Nigeria, and independent third-party inspection can be arranged at the buyer's instruction or as required by contract. Certifications held by processing facilities are confirmed per enquiry, from the specific facility, rather than asserted across the business.

Export Documentation

Standard export documentation is prepared by the exporting entity and typically includes the commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin, phytosanitary certificate and bill of lading. Additional certificates are prepared where the destination market or contract requires them.

We do not make quality, volume or certification claims that have not been verified for the specific consignment under discussion. We do not quote availability or price before confirming supply for the requirement. Where a requirement cannot be met, we say so.
